As I have stated on so many occasions, I do not watch televised news. I find it to be insulting, self-limiting, frustrating and an obvious twist at best on the truth. It is created to sell airtime and whenever money is the motivating factor, we must use caution and not blind trust. I do of course “tune in” when major national or world events have occurred. I could hardly pass over the passing of three major personalities in three days time.

I am also well aware of the phenomenon of Carl Jung’s shadow projection. This is when we take our own negativity or “shadow side” and project it onto other people especially figures in the public eye, rather than accept that it exists within us, or within those we love. An example would be when a film star or politician has an affair, we shake our heads and damn them for it but in reality we may be in an unhappy relationship and considering one, or are involved in one already.

However the opposite is also true and I feel is even more damaging to the reason for our being. I am going to name it “Light Projection”, when you cannot accept the light within yourself and idolize a public figure or some one you know perhaps a minister, a leader of group, or a parent or coach. You place them so high on a pedestal, they are so perfect in your eyes, you feel you could never match it – would not even attempt it. Then it happens, they get caught stealing money or the minister has an affair with the organist, or the priest or coach is found to be a pedophile and we lose our faith, our hope, we decide nothing is right with the world, and in that moment, we lose ourselves and our connection to God and the seed of our own Light. It narrows done to a pinhole of energy and sometimes closes off completely. We find ourselves alone in the dark, wondering why we are here and see no good anywhere.

One of the statements I hear frequently from people reacting to a bad situation in their life is, “this behavior is not me”. What they are failing to recognize is that they are immersed in the darkness of a most defining and beautiful opportunity for spiritual advancement. And their denial of their feelings is the seed, of Shadow Projection. The truth is… it is you and it is, me. When we are brave enough to walk into the reason for our journey we can then use this incarnation as a vehicle to drive directly into the deeper meaning of what it means to be human.

What I find so compelling when public figures fall is we begin to revere and respect life again. Compassion is the healing salve between the light and the dark. Between the good and the bad. It is where we begin the journey to healing. Which brings me back to the three deaths that occurred last week. No matter what was the truth of their lives, the light that flickers within us all will not let us look away from the dazzling icon of beauty who had an innocence that was often made fun of, a mega talent that broke through many barriers that had been in obvious emotional pain his whole life, and a man who had an uplifting persona and a laugh that will always be remembered. It is our compassion that allows them and us to heal. When I look at these three people the common thread I see between them all is they left children. As we watch the video footage of a grown son shackled lying in bed face to face next to his dying mother, how can we not remember deep in our hearts that all children really ever want is for their parents to be proud of them and the compassion we feel for that boy in the pit of despair with his heart split wide open we can also feel it for ourselves and only hope he felt the divinity of his Mothers undying love, and fill ourselves up with it as well. We can look at the young children left without a father and even with all the rumors about him, realize that the only opinion of a man that matters, is the one his children have of him, and give that gift to ourselves and heal our relationship with our father. And finally, we can take solace in the fact that we can be remembered for such a simple joy as was contained within an infectious laugh that will not be forgotten, and know the importance of the lightness of our being. And hope that your children have and hold the memory of their fathers laugh and be thankful if you can still hear yours.

And so it would seem, that this past week took us a little deeper into the what it means to be human and the mystery of Life and Death continues. For myself I am realizing that without death, there would be no transformation. How can something transform if it stays the same? All material matter has a purpose and there is a small dose of death in everything we eat drink and breathe. Cherish life, but be fully conscious that it does not come without a death first. Ever notice so often when people are dying, they don’t always realize it? Maybe it is because they are really coming alive for the first time. Embrace the beauty that hides in ugliness and dive into the extravagant nature of being human.

Like you were in the wrong building at the wrong meeting, in the wrong clothes?

How many times in our lives do we try and get validation from outside sources, one of the clumsiest levels of confirmation possible. It is as if we are standing at the time clock, looking around for someone to validate that we did indeed work those twelve hours, searching for anyone who may have witnessed it.

Often I look words up in the dictionary, not because I don’t know their meaning, but because I like to remind myself exactly what they do mean. I think we send very strong statements without realizing the power within the words we use. After all, if the universe is based on the Law of Attraction, shouldn’t we be more careful of the statements we make?

Valid is defined as, being sound and true; binding under law.

Valedictorian is the most valued student who gives a speech at graduation.

Validate is a declaration of the truth.

Valet means to become a servant to another human, doing his tasks and being paid or sometimes tipped, not even worthy of a set fee.

Valor means courage and bravery.

Value; the worth of a thing in money or other goods; to think highly of, as in “I value our friendship.” We seldom value ourselves without the validation that comes from another. The truth often stands alone, which often times means, so must we.

Our experiences come from our own limited views. Trying to get validation from another for our trials and sometimes our errors, that often we do not even have the capacity from our limited perspective, to even comprehend the possibility that we could have made a mistake, is truly a waste of our time and energy. Even a hardened criminal has his or her reasons, usually beyond our comprehension and understanding. We must remember we are not responsible for what others see, they only see what they have acknowledged exists.

Why do we spend so much time trying to get validation, our time ticket punched?? Why are we even punching into someone else’s clock, and not just operating on our own internal clock that always has exact and precise timing for each and every one of us.

Many people are “evaluated” usually yearly by their employer, and while I am sure it has its benefits, more often than not it leaves us feeling misunderstood and graded instead of valued and appreciated. Would it not be easier to address the problems as they happen rather then let them build for a year forming bad habits? Our personal relations can be viewed in the same way. How often have we swallowed our truth within a relationship only to have it bubble up from our gut and like a spicy meal that will not be tolerated, it comes back up as a bitter belching of the truth, and if swallowed again over time, can produce an ulcer.

How much easier would our lives become, if we began, just took a step towards validating ourselves becoming our own valedictorian and graduated to the next level of self-expression and happiness. The next time you are standing around feeling misunderstood searching the empty halls of your mind for confirmation of your value, stop. Close your eyes, and breathe. Breathe in life. Connect back up with the divine GPS system you were born with, and try and realize that in your moment of despair, somehow somewhere you got lost. Just like any long trip, there is one destination, but many ways to get there. Sometimes when we take the road less traveled, it can be beautiful or it may even be a rougher terrain. Any choice we make to take a different road nets a different result. Not necessarily better or worse but different. When we are lost we always find our way, even if we have to turn around.

Innocent until proven guilty – is a phrase we all know well as part of our judicial system. We know how our court system works and also, how often it doesn’t work.

But what about our own guilt – we are the police officer, judge and jury of our own actions. How did we become so harsh with others and ourselves? We feel guilty about so much and want others to feel guilty about the atrocities we feel they committed against us, society, and even the earth. Now I know this seems a bit of an exaggeration, but it is to make a point. Truthfully and literally I think sometimes the more subtle the “offense” against us, the more damaging something can be, because like a subliminal message it drives itself deep into us, so softly and like a tiny splinter we don’t really notice going in, it becomes sore over time.

We spend so much of our time looking for the right teacher, partner, job, you name it – we seem to be looking for it. So often within that outer search, we seem to get farther away from ourselves, and the innocence of who we are.

When did we lose that innocence? Was it taken from us as children – to a certain degree I think that answer is, yes, of course it was. On the other hand, I think we abandon it freely on a daily basis, not taking the time to notice the miracles that occur if you slow down and absorb life as it comes to you, instead of searching and looking for it.

Two weeks ago, I wrote about enchantment. I think without our innocence we can never fully experience enchantment. Innocence and enchantment are too often spoiled by science and our own curiosity that sends us climbing up the tree of knowledge, sending us on a search for the truth, and like a poison apple spoils the mystery of what exists in each moment of our life experience.

They say that OM is the sound of creation – the first sound made. Sounds a lot like MOM. Maybe our mother is OM forwards and backwards. Many of us have lost our maternal mothers, and if we have not, many of us have become the caretakers of them. I will tell you that the earth is the mother to us all.

If you don’t believe the Earth is our Mother, then tell me why, on just about any given day, you can walk outside, take off your shoes, and instantly feel better. She holds us and heals us in her vibration.

Her oceans and seashores heal the sick, and medicine can be found springing up from the dirt in the form of plants. She truly is our caretaker.

I have wondered often as so many others before me and with me, what is the purpose of our lives on earth, and what could possibly be the point in coming here, when we all seem to just want to find home. I think heaven sent us here as seeds and the earth birthed us as our mother. Maybe we are here to love the earth in the same way we love our own mother. I believe we are here to spread that in the innocence of joy, miracles, and random acts of kindness, and in doing so, we bring heaven to earth.

Saturday April 29th was Earth day, and Sunday May 11 is Mother’s Day. In case you did not think about our Earth on Earth Day, remember her on Mother’s Day and be a child again, and remember how innocent it felt being with your Mother when you were very small. As we get older let us remember that the Earth too needs our parenting, just as our human mothers do. That is the innocence of who we are.

We are the children of Earth.

We have all experienced how certain places and people can sometimes suck the life force out of us like psychic vampires, draining us of our energyenerg, often leaving us with headaches, and bad moods. But how often do we voluntarily find our selves in an energetic exchange even while watching the news? We hear a story about a celebrity divorcing, or in rehab, or an animal or child has suffered some maltreatment. Often and usually with the best of intentions, we begin to dissect the situation, and decide what the person or situation needs, and in that moment we begin to outwardly project into the world our energy – and as we do – we lose a little of ourselves voluntarily within our version of what should be. We stretch ourselves on an energetic wave to that person or situation, diluting our ability to perceive our own moment.

It is next to impossible to perceive what another is here to learn. You may be here to learn about trust, while another is here to learn humility. When we view others hardships, and shake our heads and say that is awful, truly we do not know that. Life is difficult for most. I don’t know of many people who have not suffered a loss or betrayal of some kind. It is but a moment in the classroom called life. To pray someone else’s lessons away is to rob them of their education. As we project our version of anything out into the world, we are immediately drawn into an energetic exchange and become triggered by the polarities we all possess in this world of duality. We are in the process of the shift we do not want to reinforce the duality of opposites. Understand however they are still there! We are not post-shift.

Consider not sending anything out at all. The only way to improve on the conditions of the world is to become the improvement. I cannot tell you how freeing it is when you begin to not take on all of the world’s problems.

I am not speaking of retracting our energy from the world, and retreating to some mountaintop to never utter a cross word again. I believe we all will continue learning while we are in these containers called bodies – each of us rising up to meet a new challenge or new joy, consciously within our own energy system and within our own body. When we are faced with a challenge rising up means just that…going within, to the seat of your soul and rising up your own inner connection to source or your higher self, and finding the answer specific to you, and only you. When we encounter a personal joy, we beam out that joy naturally radiating light and love, and those that enter into our space radiate within it as well. It is not a conscious effort, but a heart centered spiritual state.

Prayer that is sent out, from a sense of pity, is coming from a disconnected and assuming point of view. When we choose to enter into deep mediation or prayer, we are linked directly up to source – removed from human views with human solutions. There is no greater gift any of us can give to the world than the gift of being ourselves, within ourselves.

Understanding where your energy is flowing, calling yourself back and becoming centered will allow you to begin to realize the universe does not have human agenda or our own personal agenda as its primary focus. When we all can openly and joyfully look for the blessing buried in our own difficulties and allow others and the world to do the same we will become harmonious sounds in the symphony of life.

Many religions and prophecies have foretold of the times that are now upon us. The two thousand year reign in the age of Pisces has ended and we are now entering the age of Aquarius, the age of communication. We are blessed to be on earth at this time of great change, and everyone who has gathered, knew in advance both the difficulty and the purpose of being here now. Communication is at the forefront of everyone’s needs, we all are hungering for the truth and can not tolerate much dishonesty or things that are no longer working in our lives. When we are trying to control, we fear - and what we fear we destroy, which ultimately will be ourselves.

The energies around us are changing so quickly, it is hard to keep up, we have the feeling that time is speeding up, and everything is speeding past us, which is simply the result of our vibratory state being higher, and it is a much more happy state. As you begin to see energy with your physical eyes and you will if you don’t already – know you are in the early stage of experiencing the great shift. Very simply put, when we surrender to the light streaming from above us and to us and trust in our insight, we have no need to control but to follow the feelings and nudges from our soul. In doing so, we become brighter creatures and most importantly, we become peaceful.

SLOW DOWN

One thing I have learned is that insight or intuition takes a little bit of time to recognize and understand, and the finally, accepting it. We have been very conditioned to ignore it, and look for the answers in the written word and not to trust feelings. After all, we have been taught that our feelings are what get us into trouble to begin with. I think it is the control over them that does. Everyone is searching for answers to questions that don’t really exist. The light is the light, and questions are our souls in shadow, the answers are not out there anywhere. Only when we call our souls back do the questions simply cease to be.

Perhaps as we intend more and pretend less, we will lose our desire to understand everything, for there is nothing to understand, but to look past. The vision of the great shift is that there will come a time when we find ourselves reborn into the infancy of innocence and begin to cease to understand less and less and that in turn will enable us to love more and more.
