IT’S NOT WHAT YOU KNOW

May 28, 2009

For quite some time, I have been puzzled by how we all are so full of questions but don’t want to be given or accept any answers to those questions. I often wonder that if God appeared in front of us with the answer to our quandaries we would rub our chins and ponder something else, or ask him to produce a report to prove or explain his answer.

There was an excellent article a couple of years ago, in an issue of Health Quest by Brian Sanderoff titled, “Curing is for Hams Healing is for Humans”, and I could not agree more. No one manifested disease over night obviously I am not speaking of colds or flu’s, but of the physical breakdown of cells and organs from months or years of repeated ignorance of our spirits and physical embodiments. There exists a belief among those of us who help others heal that curing someone from their well planned out physical breakdown in and of it self can prove fatal, and I suspect is perhaps part of the reason for prescription side effects and hospital and surgical fatalities. These diseases are not to be taken lightly, and need gentle subtle understanding and as Brian described, healing – not curing. We don’t need to cure disease we need to understand it and how it manifested. If we are so much wiser and technology is so advanced, why does chronic disease seem to know no boundaries and be at an all time high?

Maybe the testing that we think is the answer to our disease – ridden society is really part of the problem to begin with. It is now expected that we will come down with something at some point, and so we begin looking earlier and earlier. Could it be that just like our spiritual questions, we really don’t need the answer in the form of a cure to our illnesses either?

Have you ever had someone hand you a book, and even though a part of you may know it could very well hold the answer you are searching for – you don’t open it. I think that is part of the human universal question. There would be no quest without the wondering in the first place…and sometimes even when we are wallowing in the darkest place alone, we must squirm and wiggle until we figure it out ourselves.

Our new presidents motto is Change We Can Believe In. If I may quote him directly “I am asking you to believe. Not just about my ability to bring real change to Washington…I’m asking you to believe in yours.”

The truth is whether the changes are big or not, or even change at all, depends on us. If you think about it, as the creators of our own realities we are the masters of what goes on in our lives much more than we care to admit and moreover assume responsibility for.

Information is so readily available with a few clicks on the computer, often you can begin to read on a topic seconds after someone tells you of it. We are in the Age of Aquarius, the age of communication. There is no lack of information, but perhaps communication is just as important as education, without it the information is useless if it cannot be shared and translated through many different teachers, leaders, and visionaries bringing their experience with it. Many great Masters have come to earth to spread the same message of peace, and their messages have been funneled into the doctrines that have become our religions, and codes of ethics. Maybe it is time to begin to consider some fresh information.

It is not what we know it is what we have learned that is truly valuable. Knowledge without experience is like a can of paint without walls to spread it on or Mozart without a piano. Every painful moment brings change. How nice it would be if we looked at our experiences not as success or failure, or comparing ourselves to others, but allowing others to simply be and allow ourselves the same, to be and be-come. As we come to have a greater understanding that every one has valuable insight to share, we will remember that the only universal truth is of love, and that all of the details of each and all of our lives, is the road back to that love. With that comes the realization through the many changes occurring both collectively and individually in society. We are experiencing a leveling if you will, where the high rollers and what some could refer to as elitists, are beginning to see the loftiness in their considering that they were protected, and separate. Like a puffy white cloud on a summer day, that idea has darkened and the rain is beginning to fall, may they begin to see and feel as the people below them that have lived for so long under the same dark cloud, that the rain that falls from darkness is just the release and cleansing we all need. May we gather together and begin to rebuild a new world, one that has room for everyone.
